Our Partnerships

Partnerships are an integral component of the Communities for Children initiative, which allows the strategy to build and extend on what already exists within the communities, in this way minimising duplication and building local capacity.

The West Pilbara Communities for Children Initiative has developed partnerships with many groups to achieve these outcomes over the last 12 months, for example:

  • Family Centres
  • Playgroups
  • Community Association
  • Primary Schools
  • Child Health Department
  • Telethon Institute
  • Better Beginnings
  • Libraries
  • Best Start Program
  • Department of Child Protection
  • Early Years groups
  • Various Aboriginal Corporations
  • Various Aboriginal Language Centres
  • The Smith Family
  • Non-Government Organisations
  • Corporate Organisations in the Pilbara

Sustainability and Evaluation

Sustainability is an integral part of the Communities for Children initiative and we are required to develop realistic strategies to ensure sustainability.

To assess how our model is working, a consortium of expert evaluators from non-government organisations has developed a national framework to evaluate Communities for Children. Each site also contracts a local evaluator that works closely with organisations contracted to deliver the strategies and to support the collection of data, which informs the on-going roll out of each strategy.
